Guidance Hub

Pre-Treatment Consultation

Before any treatment, Dr. Imran will perform a thorough examination and diagnosis to determine whether the stains are external stains or internal. Sometimes scaling and polishing is recommended before teeth whitening.  With the correct guidance and treatment plan you can achieve the desired results.

Procedure Overview

Teeth Whitening Process

Before the treatment doctor may take photographs of your teeth to track the progress.

Cleaning

The dentist will clean your teeth to remove any plaque, tartar, or debris.

Isolation

Your gums and lips will be covered with a protective barrier to shield them from the whitening agent and the laser.

Application of Whitening Gel

A whitening gel containing a high concentration of hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide is applied to the surface of your teeth.

Laser Activation

A laser or LED light is used for 15-3 minutes to activate the whitening gel. The light accelerates the whitening process by enhancing the penetration of the whitening agent into the tooth enamel.

Multiple Sessions

In some cases, the process may be repeated in multiple sessions to achieve the desired level of whitening.

Limiting Snacking

Eating too many snacks can lead to an increased risk of cavities. Don’t eat too many snacks between meals so that your teeth get time to recover from acid attacks.

Procedure Overview

Post-Treatment care

The longevity of whitening depends on the 48 hours following the procedure. Keep the following tips in mind.

Avoid Colored Foods

Following a teeth-whitening procedure, for the first 48 hours you must avoid eating deep-colored meals and using tobacco. Items to avoid include tea, coffee, cherries, chocolate, beets, all kinds of berries, and dark sauces.

Avoid Acidic Foods

As part of your aftercare routine avoid acidic foods like lemons, pickles, limes, and other foods or soft drinks.

Foods You Can Eat

You can preserve teeth whiteness by eating these foods; crunchy fruits or vegetables, especially apples, celery, carrots, and green beans.

Calcium Rich Food Items

You should also increase your intake of dairy products like milk, cheese yogurt, and other high-calcium meals. The nutrients and minerals in these meals will keep your teeth healthy and will defend against decay.

Avoid Hot and Cold Meals

You should avoid either too hot or too cold meals because your teeth will be sensitive after the whitening procedure. Buying toothpaste for sensitive teeth will help to reduce potential discomfort.

Limiting Snacking

Eating too many snacks can lead to an increased risk of cavities. Don’t eat too many snacks between meals so that your teeth get time to recover from acid attacks.
