Guidance Hub

Pre-Treatment Consultation

In your first appointment for dentures, Dr. Imran will assess your situation thoroughly and also discuss your medical and dental history. In the examination, he will examine your teeth and explore your denture options from traditional complete/partial dentures to flexible implants. If only some of your teeth need to be replaced, then you will probably need partial dentures. And if all of your teeth need replacing then you will get full dentures.

Procedure Overview

Dentures Process

Before the treatment doctor may take photographs of your teeth to track the progress.

Dental Impression

Dentures are custom-made therefore your dental impression will be taken.

Bite Molds

After dental impressions, Dr. Imran will check your biting action using wax blocks. At this point, he will also help you choose the shape and color of your new false teeth.

Wax Models

Your dental impression will be sent to a laboratory and your new teeth will be set in wax. This is done to get an idea of how your final dentures will look.

Fitting

After the fabrication of the new set, Dr. Imran will fit the new dentures in your mouth. It is done to see if these dentures are a proper fit and correct bite. The appearance and aesthetics of the dentures are also made desirable for the customer.

Procedure Overview

Post-Treatment care

The longevity of whitening depends on the 48 hours following the procedure. Keep the following tips in mind.

Avoid Colored Foods

  • While you are getting used to your new dentures, it is normal to feel discomfort, sore spots in your mouth, and difficulty in speaking.
  • To help with speech, try reading aloud for a few days. In this way, your mouth will adjust and speech will become easier.
  • As your dentures settle, your bite will need to be adjusted.
  • Clean your dentures with a denture brush and denture paste.
  • Once a week soak dentures in denture cleaner.
  • Allow your gums to relax by leaving out dentures each night.
  • While brushing, do not forget to brush the roof of your mouth, tongue, and gums to remove any food particles. This will help you avoid inflammation and keep your mouth healthy.
  • You should visit your dentist once a year to get your mouth and denture checked. Bone loss and wear on the teeth will affect the fit of the dentures, which if not checked on time will cause trauma to your gums and ones.

Avoid Acidic Foods

As part of your aftercare routine avoid acidic foods like lemons, pickles, limes, and other foods or soft drinks.
